In mei 2017 is na een feestelijke aftrap begonnen aan de productie van een CD van het Schiedamse trio genaamd Caffeine. Met een team aan muzikanten, studiotechnici en natuurlijk de dames van Caffeine zelf is gedurende een jaar tijd gewerkt aan zeker 16 songs die uiteindelijk allen op het album zullen verschijnen.

Via een crowdfunding actie onder vrienden, familie en fans is door het trio voldoende geld bij elkaar verzameld om het gehele proces te bewerkstelligen. Denk hierbij aan (pré-)productie, opnames, editing, mixage, mastering, vormgeving én het persen van een flinke oplage aan CD’s. Omdat Ronald Leeuwangh van zQence entertainment erg gelooft in Luna, Meike en Nienke als artiesten heeft hij besloten om het traject van pré-productie aan de dames cadeau te doen wanneer hij dit album mocht produceren. Een samenwerking die uitmondt in het album genaamd “Window“.
Een naam die erg toepasselijk is, daar het album een inkijkje is in het leven en de gedachten van de dames van Caffeine. Pure en ongepolijste songs over liefde, gebroken harten, onzekerheid en vergelding. Een mooie mix van Pop, country en folk die misschien nog wel het meest past onder het kopje Americana. Welk label er ook aan gehangen wordt, wij noemen het gewoon “Caffeine” !

Tijdens de opnames die zijn gedaan in de studio van zQence entertainment in Rotterdam en Den Haag en de studio van Marmalade Music in Delft, is gebruik gemaakt een legio aan muziekinstrumenten en klankbronnen. Denk hierbij aan de prachtige meerstemmige zang van de dames van Caffeine, maar ook verschillende gitaren, piano, bas, percussie, kazoo’s en drums. Daarnaast is veelvuldig gebruik gemaakt van strijkers (violen, cello, contrabas e.d.) die dit album écht afmaken. De Mastering van het album is uitgevoerd door Da Goose Mastering.
In juli en augustus zijn inmiddels al de twee eerste singles uitgebracht op spotify en iTunes, maar wil je het volledige album luisteren dan kan dit vanaf 14 september 2018. Tijdens de officiële CD-release in Poppodium Grounds in Rotterdam kun je het Trio aangevuld met een voltallige band live zien spelen en de CD terplekke kopen (entree gratis). Uiteraard kan vanaf die datum de CD ook beluisterd worden via de eerder genoemde online distributiekanalen.
